Information We Collect

SpudScout is designed to operate entirely on your device. The app collects and stores the following information locally on your device only:

• Field names and location descriptions you enter
• GPS coordinates when you choose to capture your location
• Scouting session records including pest, disease, weed, and agronomic observations
• Photos you take or select within the app
• Notes and recommendations you record

This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Subscription Information

SpudScout offers auto-renewable subscriptions (monthly and annual) processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not directly collect or store your payment information. All billing is handled by Apple in accordance with their privacy policy and terms of service.

Apple may share limited purchase information with us (such as subscription status) solely for the purpose of verifying your entitlement to use SpudScout Pro features.

Location Data

SpudScout may request access to your device's location services to capture GPS coordinates for scouting sessions. Location data is:

• Only accessed when you actively use the location capture feature
• Stored locally on your device as part of your scouting records
• Never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties

You may disable location access at any time in your device's Settings app.

Photos and Camera

SpudScout may request access to your camera and photo library to allow you to attach field photos to scouting sessions. Photos are stored locally within the app and are not uploaded to any external server.

Data We Do Not Collect

SpudScout does not collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, address)
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
• Advertising identifiers
• Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to our servers
• Any data from third-party sources

Data Storage and Security

All scouting data is stored locally on your iOS device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework. Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features including passcode and biometric authentication. We recommend keeping your device software up to date to ensure the latest security protections.

Data Deletion

You can delete any scouting session, field record, or observation at any time within the app. Deleting the SpudScout app from your device will permanently remove all locally stored data. This action cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

SpudScout is designed for professional agricultural use and is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
